Three things worth putting on the calendar this fall: a new mural at the library, four days of riding at Stephen Foster, and guided walks through the historic district.
White Springs Public Library
The Library is unveiling a new mural by artist Rachel Budwick, featuring novels from Florida authors and stories that highlight Florida history. Art, books, history, and Floridian culture come together for a day of education and fun put on by local organizations and artists.

Suwannee Bicycle Association
Four days of riding, paddling, and camping on the trails around White Springs, based out of Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park. Mountain, gravel, and road rides by day, night rides after dark, and a paddle on the Santa Fe and Suwannee Rivers.
White Springs Historic Preservation Society
From October through the end of the year, WSHPS guides lead small groups through the town that grew up around the spring. Four routes, from the familiar historic district to the streets most visitors drive right past.
Discover the White Springs that grew around the famous spring and became one of Florida's early resort destinations. Stroll along historic River and Spring Streets as local stories bring old hotels, homes, businesses, colorful residents, and the rise and fall of this once-bustling town back to life. The perfect introduction to White Springs, where the buildings that remain are only part of the story.
Go beyond the familiar historic district and discover the White Springs locals remember. This walk explores Booger Bottom, Hoboken, the old Spring House area, historic neighborhoods, murals, and the Adams Country Store, weaving together the stories behind some of the town's most intriguing names and lesser-known places. A little history, a little local lore, and a side of White Springs you won't discover from the highway.
River Street and northeast White Springs. Climb aboard and explore more of White Springs than you can see on foot. This guided golf cart tour travels from historic River Street into the northeastern reaches of town, with stops and stories encompassing historic homes and landmarks, local cemeteries, neighborhood history, public murals, and places that helped shape everyday life in White Springs. A relaxed way to hear the stories you might otherwise drive right past.
At dusk, White Springs begins to tell a different kind of history. Walk the old streets as daylight fades and hear the documented history, local legends, unexplained experiences, and ghost stories that have lingered for generations, from the grand old Telford Hotel and the Adams Country Store to the spring, the river, the devastating fire of 1911, and places that have disappeared altogether. Some stories are history. Some are firsthand accounts. Some are folklore. And some have been told so long that it's difficult to know where one ends and another begins.
Tours begin at the White Springs Tourism Center and end at the Suwannee Hardware Store unless otherwise noted. Proceeds support the Historic Preservation Society and the Suwannee Hardware Store.
